Marriott International has announced the appointment of Nikita Das as Sr. Cluster Marketing and Communication Head for Bangalore Hotels, Marriott International. Being in the industry close for close to a decade, Das brings with her vast knowledge and experience in the hotel industry. In her new role, she will oversee marketing and communications of three Marriott properties in Bangalore i.e. JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway and the Renaissance Race Course Hotel.
Das started her career with Ogilvy and Mather Mumbai in the year 2010 where she built her rich experience in marketing and advertising. In 2011, she moved to DDB Mudra Communications as a Manager Brand Communications.
She later joined Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi in 2014 and soon after was promoted as Director PR & Marketing for Taj’s flagship hotel in New Delhi. Her stint at Taj Hotels gave her the experience of the hospitality industry. She later grew up the ladder and moved to The Embassy Group, Bengaluru as the Head for Luxury Marketing, Residential in 2018. “It is an absolute honor to be a part of such a prestigious brand like Marriott international. The properties I’ll be responsible for have already set high standards in all domains of hospitality, I look forward to working with the talented team of associates and contribute to the overall growth of these luxury properties,” said Das.
Ather Raza now the Director-Operations of Sheraton Grand
Ather Raza has been appointed as the Director of Operations, Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa. He brings with him over 16 years of hospitality experience and will oversee the functioning of various departments at the property. Prior to joining Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa, Raza worked as an Executive Assistant Manager (Rooms) at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre.
Brendan Corcoran appointed as GM of Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort
Brendan Corcoran has been appointed as Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort’s General Manager. Brendan’s industry experience spans over two decades in a variety of leadership positions. He embarked on his professional journey at the Hilton Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. Nadda Buranasiri appointed as AirAsia X Group CEO
AirAsia X Thailand CEO Nadda Buranasiri has been appointed as the new AirAsia X Group CEO. Nadda has had stints in sales, advertising, banking, and the music industry. He joined the aviation industry in January 2014 as CEO of AirAsia X Thailand and has been instrumental in not only setting up their Bangkok-based long-haul operations but also making it one of the most successful and popular long-haul airlines in Asia, a press statement from the carrier noted.
