Said Salim Said Al-Shanfari has been appointed the CEO of Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) project. He will lead the organization through its next phase of innovation and growth.
Al-Shanfari has rich experience working in leadership roles in marketing and communications across Oman as well as in the region. He successfully completed Oman’s National CEO Program in 2017. The National CEO Program benefits individuals and corporations, preparing Oman’s brightest talent to compete in the global marketplace and aims to build the next generation of Omani leaders. With his leadership skills and experience from the CEO program, Al-Shanfari aims to promote Oman and OCEC as a hub for regional and international conferences and exhibitions along with live events, as well as showcasing the natural beauty and essence of Oman.
Al-Shanfari brings with him a wealth of experience as he progressed through various management positions during his eight-year tenure in Ooredoo Oman as Director of Business Marketing and most recently as the General Manager of Marketing Communication and Performance at Omantel.

Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre is at an exponential growth stage with new achievements and developments in the building project. OCEC has successfully won 22 International and Regional Congresses and is eager to host these prestigious events in the near future. Some of the most awaited events that the Centre looks forward to are the 2018 International Road Union Congress, the 2020 World Cancer Congress, and the 2020 Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Congress. The Centre recently finished hosting the 2018 World Heavy Oil Congress and it proved to be a great success. Architecturally advanced in design and capability with 55 meeting rooms, 22,000 sqm of column-free exhibition halls, and massive ballrooms, the Centre has successfully been awarded the LEED Certification for its cost-saving and sustainable environment. OCEC is now all set to launch the state-of-the-art lyric style theatre with 3200 seats that will cater to world-class entertainers and performers.
Nikita Das joins as Sr. Cluster Marcom Head for Bangalore Hotels, Marriott Int’l
Marriott International has announced the appointment of Nikita Das as Sr. Cluster Marketing and Communication Head for Bangalore Hotels, Marriott International. Being in the industry close for close to a decade, Das brings with her vast knowledge and experience in the hotel industry. In her new role, she will oversee marketing and communications of three Marriott properties in Bangalore i.e. JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway and the Renaissance Race Course Hotel.
Das started her career with Ogilvy and Mather Mumbai in the year 2010 where she built her rich experience in marketing and advertising. In 2011, she moved to DDB Mudra Communications as a Manager Brand Communications.
She later joined Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi in 2014 and soon after was promoted as Director PR & Marketing for Taj’s flagship hotel in New Delhi. Her stint at Taj Hotels gave her the experience of the hospitality industry. She later grew up the ladder and moved to The Embassy Group, Bengaluru as the Head for Luxury Marketing, Residential in 2018. “It is an absolute honor to be a part of such a prestigious brand like Marriott international. The properties I’ll be responsible for have already set high standards in all domains of hospitality, I look forward to working with the talented team of associates and contribute to the overall growth of these luxury properties,” said Das.
Ather Raza now the Director-Operations of Sheraton Grand
Ather Raza has been appointed as the Director of Operations, Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa. He brings with him over 16 years of hospitality experience and will oversee the functioning of various departments at the property. Prior to joining Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa, Raza worked as an Executive Assistant Manager (Rooms) at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre.
