Karnataka Tourism Society organised the inaugural edition of Destination Showcase Events in Bengaluru on 26th March 2024.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. D Venkatesan, Regional Director, Southern India for India Tourism. Other dignitaries in attendance were Mr. Yuvaraj, General Manager of Jungle Lodges and Resorts; Mr. Janardhan, Joint Director, Karnataka Tourism; and Mr. Mohd Farouk, Director- India Tourism, Bengaluru.
For the first time, Chikmaglur and Sakleshpur, two captivating locations nestled in the lush Western Ghats of Karnataka, served as the destination theme for an exclusive B2B tourism showcase, inviting stakeholders and industry professionals to explore the untapped potential of these coffee tourism destinations. The event highlighted the stunning scenery, rich cultural heritage, and wide range of attractions that these regions have to offer.
The KTS ‘Chikmagalur and Sakleshpur Tourism Showcase’ fostered collaboration, networking, and partnerships. Showcasing the unique experiences that travellers can experience in these pristine destinations, the event focused on sustainable tourism practices and community engagement.
“This showcase presents an unparalleled opportunity for travel agents, tour operators, hospitality professionals, and other stakeholders to discover the hidden treasures of Chikmaglur and Sakleshpur,” stated Mr. K Syamaraju, President of the Karnataka Tourism Society, in his welcome address. “We believe we can unlock our regions’ full potential and encourage sustainable growth by bringing together industry leaders and displaying the distinctive offerings of our regions.”
Attending delegates had the opportunity to interact with leading hotels and resorts, sample authentic cuisine, network, and explore the picturesque wonders of Chikmaglur and Sakleshpur. The event showcased 24 leading properties, making it one of the key tourism promotion activities for the destination.
